CAMC
Institute's Center for Telehealth and Charleston Area Medical
Center's physicians provide medical consultations via Inter
Active Television (IATV) for inpatient care and outpatient
clinic-style consultations in areas of dermatology, neurology,
ENT, rheumatology and hematology. Other specialty consultations
are available upon request. CAMC Institute's Center for
Telehealth is capable of transmitting full motion video,
audio and diagnostic images. Heart and lung sounds are transmitted
through and electronic stethoscope at the remote site and
received through a headset by the consulting physician.
Selected sites are equipped with diagnostic peripherals
such as otoscope, ophthalmoscope and dermatology cameras.
